In July 2025, we developed and delivered a training module under the FPA Training Program focused on demystifying the science of crop irrigation and introducing simple, low-cost irrigation alternatives to students and young farmer trainees under the care of the NGO, Dream Future. Using real examples of plant stress indicators such as leaf wilting, discoloration, and stunted growth, the sessions unpacked how factors like erratic watering, nutrient imbalance, and heat stress impair plant productivity. We also introduced participants to accessible irrigation methods, including bottle-drip systems, mulching, and greywater reuse, all chosen for their affordability and adaptability in smallholder settings. By anchoring the demonstrations in seasonal farming routines, the training helped participants better diagnose crop distress and apply water-saving techniques with minimal infrastructural dependence.
In November 2025, we put together an open-access online database that simplified central and state-level policy schemes related to agricultural subsidies, irrigation incentives, and climate resilience. The database grouped schemes by state, eligibility, timeline, and application procedure, with particular attention to those linked to PMKSY, PMFBY, and Kisan Credit Cards.
