Smallholder farmers in very drought-prone regions of India are experiencing an increasing crisis. Climate change has increased the unpredictable weather patterns and also a lack of water, which has made farming increasingly difficult and threatening towards the livelihoods of millions of people.
The government has rolled out important schemes, subsidies, and new water-saving irrigation technologies, but a big challenge is still the access to knowledge. Most farmers cannot find the time, money, or skill simply to read the confusing official documentation or complete the bureaucratic application processes. Important knowledge and related funds never reach the most vulnerable areas.
This knowledge gap is the reason FPA (Future-Proofing Agriculture) was born. We exist to help bridge that gap, and to ensure that every community can easily access relevant knowledge and hands-on training to secure its water supply and farm future-proofing.
